Dubai became the world's largest auto trade hub

Sheikh Maktoum reveals a vast 22 million square foot auto market project led by DP World. UAE will soon see Dubai take a huge step toward being the world’s top destination for vehicle buyers, traders and makers, with the formal inauguration of a 22-million-sq-ft Auto Market planned to revolutionise the region’s automotive environment.

A significant project to make the emirate the biggest and most cutting-edge automotive trading hub in the world. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's orders to transform the market into a worldwide hub for automobile commerce, logistics, and industry services are followed by the debut.

By connecting exporters with important markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, it will facilitate commerce in new and used electric, hybrid, and conventional automobiles.

UAE passenger car sales and re-exports are predicted to almost treble by 2030, according to demand indicators. The Dubai Auto Market hopes to treble its current sales of Dh6.8 billion due to DP World's network of 77 ports and 15 vehicle transshipment hubs, which handle 10% of the world's automotive traffic.

The program expands on Dubai's well-established position as the Gulf's top hub for automobile trade, which is anchored by the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), which is home to over 940 automotive and spare-parts businesses, including major international manufacturers like Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Volkswagen, and Volvo.

In order to supervise the creation and administration of the Dubai Auto Market, Dubai Municipality entered into a partnership agreement with DP World's Economic Zones sector as part of the rollout. The deal strengthens collaboration to bolster Dubai's standing as a global hub for automotive commerce and innovation.
