The UAE's SEWA Opens a New Kalba Power Station That Will Enhance Energy Services in the Country

The Kalba Commercial Power Transmission Station has officially opened for business, according to a statement from the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA). This program is an aspect of the Authority's continuous efforts to improve power distribution and transmission networks throughout Sharjah, offering the greatest services to the residents. The station was built for 55 million dirhams in total, and all testing and commissioning procedures were completed successfully.

The new 33/11 kV commercial substation in Kalba, according to Engineer Youssef Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of SEWA's Kalba Department, is the primary source of electricity supply for the area and its surrounding areas, including the commercial and industrial zones, Al Qurm, the waterfront of Kalba Mall, Victoria School, and the border point with Khatm Al Melahia.

Al Hammadi emphasized the Authority's dedication to carrying out projects to the highest standards and within the allotted time frame, guaranteeing the greatest services for development projects in all of Sharjah's districts. This is in accordance with the orders of Sharjah's ruler, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council, to consistently improve services.

Director of SEWA's Kalba Department highlighted that the station was built in accordance with the strictest safety and security regulations, linked to the network, and turned on. It has advanced technology installed to guarantee effectiveness and quality.

Three transformers, each with a 20 MVA capacity, are part of the station, which has a 60 MVA capacity. The station was equipped with the newest technologies, including 25 km of 33 kV and 12 km of 11 kV cables. The station has a Building Management System (BMS) with air conditioning, fire suppression, surveillance cameras, temperature monitoring, and access control.
